Biography
The Midnight Rambler project began in 2006 as the work of singer songwriter Mike Lemin (me). After gathering an appreciative live and online following in London and Reading with early solo tracks such as the introspective and shadowy 'Shockwave' and re-working of the Bluedog track 'You Don't See', I won a live slot on the BT Digital Music Awards 2007. Having licensed to JW Media Group for Film and Soundtracks, I'm continued recording both solo projects and a debut TMR band album. As of 2010 we are now a heavy blues / alt. rock three piece with the incredible rhythm section of Sza Sza on bass and Robert McGregor on drums.
The glory in the sound is due to the love of Frank Zappa / Black Keys / Primus / Incubus / Morphine / Son House / Buddy Guy / Jamiroquai / The Police / Black Sabbath / Pearl Jam / Rolling Stones / Smashing Pumpkins / Prince / and of course ..The Muppets
The inspiration for the name The Midnight Rambler was taken from The Rolling Stones song of the same name, and also the 1969 film 'The Midnight Cowboy' which sparked a lifelong fascination and connection to the city of New York.
